Our colleague María Emilia Salazar represented ARSOFT in a working session that allowed for sharing progress, aligning objectives, and reinforcing the collaborative approach that defines CASANDRA. It was an open and constructive dialogue where each entity contributed its vision, experience, and latest technological advancements.
Such in-person meetings are crucial for strengthening coordination among teams and ensuring joint project evolution. They facilitate the comparison of approaches, identification of technical collaboration opportunities, and alignment of next steps with a shared vision. Because in a project as ambitious and multidisciplinary as CASANDRA, success depends not only on technology but also —above all— on teamwork.
The main objective of the CASANDRA project is to develop a closed-loop digital manufacturing methodology enabling concepts of connected, intelligent, and autonomous factories. This methodology will track the evolution of the digital twin of the component throughout its lifecycle. It requires distributed monitoring and control tools following a distributed data space model.
At ARSOFT, we contribute to CASANDRA with our experience in Extended Reality applied to the industrial sector. Through platforms like EyeFlow, we facilitate the digitalization of technical processes via interactive 3D content accessible in Augmented, Virtual, or Mixed Reality, without the need for programming. These solutions enhance operator training, optimize on-site support, and transform traditional documentation into more effective and secure immersive experiences.
The meeting in Avilés also provided an opportunity to introduce these capabilities to other project partners and explore synergies that can amplify the impact of ongoing technological developments. With participating entities from regions such as Asturias, Galicia, Castilla y León, Madrid, and Andalusia, CASANDRA represents a model of decentralized innovation connected to the productive fabric of different territories.
Indeed, this territorial diversity, combined with the complementarity of technical profiles within the consortium, is one of the project’s greatest strengths. CASANDRA not only embraces disruptive technologies like Artificial Intelligence, high-performance computing, or Extended Reality but also prioritizes a collaborative innovation approach based on continuous exchange and joint creation of solutions addressing real industry challenges.
In summary, the meeting held this week in Avilés marks another step forward on a shared path. A path where we advance together with a common vision: to bring digital transformation to the factory, through applied research and with tangible impact.
