ARSOFT is hosting a webinar on the digitization of industrial manuals

ARSOFT will host “From Paper to Digital Experience,” a free online EyeFlow webinar on October 14 at 11:00 a.m. (CEST). Led by Alberto Manzano, XR Product Owner at ARSOFT, the session will show how to turn industrial manuals and technical procedures into interactive Extended Reality (XR) experiences for training, maintenance, and remote assistance, all without writing a single line of code.

Webinar “From Paper to Digital Experience.” On October 14 at 11:00 a.m., ARSOFT will host a new free EyeFlow webinar focused on digitizing industrial manuals with Extended Reality (XR). The free online session will show how to turn a company’s technical documentation into visual, interactive experiences designed for training and maintenance.

In any industrial plant, technical documentation is a key part of day-to-day operations. Operating manuals, maintenance procedures, assembly instructions, safety protocols: all of this information supports the work of technical teams.

The problem is rarely a lack of documentation, but rather how it’s used. When a technician needs to troubleshoot an issue, locate a part, or review the steps of an operation, searching for that answer in a lengthy manual takes time and, in complex processes, can lead to errors. Digitizing industrial manuals with XR offers a different approach: turning that documentation into visual, interactive experiences that support professionals as they work, instead of forcing them to stop what they’re doing to look something up.

Why Traditional Manuals Fall Short

Paper and PDF manuals have served their purpose for decades, but today’s industrial equipment is increasingly complex, and processes demand fast answers. A hundred-page document organized by chapters isn’t always the most efficient way to find a specific piece of information in the middle of a job.

Digitizing this documentation isn’t simply a matter of moving the same content into a digital file. The real shift lies in transforming that knowledge into a more practical resource: step-by-step instructions overlaid on the machine itself, 3D models that can be rotated and explored, or interactive guides that display only the information relevant to each task.

Extended Reality makes it possible to display three-dimensional elements, highlight specific components of a piece of equipment, or guide users through a procedure with contextual cues. As a result, information is no longer something you have to go looking for; it’s available right when you need it.

One Piece of Content, Multiple Uses

One of the topics the webinar will cover is how to leverage a company’s existing documentation for several different purposes, without having to create new content each time.

  • Digitize. The starting point is converting current manuals and procedures into digital instructions. This avoids starting from scratch every time a new training or support resource is needed, and makes it possible to reuse the technical knowledge the company has already built up.
  • Train. That same content can be turned into immersive training experiences. Practicing a procedure in 3D before performing it on the actual equipment helps professionals approach the operation with greater confidence, especially for high-risk tasks or processes that require specialized training.
  • Assist. Digital documentation can also support technicians on the job, providing visual instructions exactly when they need them and reducing reliance on lengthy manuals. In addition, XR technologies can connect technicians with a remote expert, making remote assistance easier when a question or issue comes up.

Where XR Fits into Industrial Maintenance and Training

When Extended Reality is integrated with an organization’s procedures and documentation, it can be applied at various points in the workday:

  • Onboarding new hires, through virtual environments where they can practice procedures risk-free.
  • Equipment maintenance, with step-by-step instructions and highlighting of the relevant components.
  • Inspections, supported by visual cues and resources displayed on the equipment itself.
  • Remote assistance, connecting an on-site technician with a specialist whenever needed.
  • Knowledge transfer, capturing the expertise of veteran professionals so it isn’t lost when they leave their positions.

This last point is especially relevant at a time when many industrial companies are facing the retirement of highly experienced employees and the challenge of passing that knowledge on to new teams.

Creating 3D Content Without Coding

One of the common obstacles in any industrial digitization project is making sure the technology can be managed by the company’s own teams, without relying on custom development every time a procedure needs to be updated.

The webinar will show how EyeFlow can turn technical manuals and procedures into interactive content without writing a single line of code. The platform is designed so that each company can work directly with its own documentation and create XR experiences tailored to its processes, without needing programming skills.

About the Webinar

The session will be led by Alberto Manzano, XR Product Owner at ARSOFT and a specialist in managing Extended Reality projects for training and industrial processes. He will offer a hands-on demonstration of how to transform manuals and procedures into interactive content with EyeFlow, and how to apply these tools to real-world industrial training and operations scenarios.

The webinar is especially geared toward professionals and organizations interested in industrial process digitization, technical training, maintenance, and the use of XR technologies in the workplace.
