XR Platform for the Spanish Army

The Spanish Army will implement its new Logistics Base in Córdoba in the coming years. It is an innovative logistics base, with a clear commitment to the future.

In the following video, designed and produced by ARSOFT in collaboration with La Claqueta, we can see what this new base will look like, with a clear component of technological innovation.

Investment in XR Technologies

One of the investments to be made are XR technologies: Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality, and the Army has selected ARSOFT’s EyeFlow platform, with a contract awarded to Sonovision, with whom ARSOFT will work to create an XR platform tailored to the needs of the Army.

Project “Development of a solution based on augmented reality as support in the operational improvement of ET maintenance processes”

These technologies will allow the Army to train operators in the maintenance of its vehicles and weapons systems in a much more efficient way:

  •        Improved learning curve
  •        Reduced time spent by trainers
  •        Avoid the use of real machinery for training
  •        Travel savings
  •        Avoid downtime in work lines
  •        Improved motivation for training, including Upskilling and Reskilling
  •        Improvement in the level of satisfaction of the operators
  •        Access to training content anytime, anywhere and from any device (PC, mobile, tablet, AR, MR or VR glasses)

On the other hand, thanks to Mixed Reality devices, the Army will be able to:

  •        Conduct a more efficient order receipt review
  •        Get driving directions, with easy-to-follow and step-by-step instructions
  •        Avoid human errors in inspection and maintenance processes

And how will all this content be generated?

The Army will have its own platform designed to facilitate as much as possible the creation of content with the three XR technologies. In this way, the Army will have its own platform to create internally, or through third parties, its own Virtual Reality simulators, procedure manuals with Mixed Reality, Augmented Reality data viewers…

Thinking about the present, betting on the future

With this commitment, the Army makes an investment thinking about how Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality technologies can help them today, but with a future strategy that allows them to make a sustainable investment and a real implementation of the technologies in day to day work.

At ARSOFT we thank the Spanish Army and Sonovision for their trust in ARSOFT and our XR authoring platform: EYEFLOW.
