ARSOFT, a company specialized in the development of Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality solutions, has developed an interactive simulation using virtual reality, which has been awarded in the Telehealth and E-Learning Category of a new edition of the E-nnova Health Awards.
Specifically, the winning technological procedure consists of an interactive simulation, using immersive virtual reality, in which the participant lives the experience of practicing clinical management and decision making with a person who has monoarthritis in a doctor’s office.
In this context, it should be noted that XR technologies are increasingly gaining prominence in the medical field. In many cases, they have become the best tool for healthcare professionals to practice and improve their skills before performing an intervention. And all this without putting the patient’s health at risk. For this reason, at ARSOFT we have spent years researching and developing solutions based on Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality technologies that make it possible to replace face-to-face surgical training with virtual models, and offer healthcare professionals a more agile and simple training.
In this edition, in the category of Telehealth and E-learning, the award was collected by Juan Antonio Juanes Méndez, professor at the University of Salamanca and director of GIR VisualMed Systems, and by Francisco Javier del Toro Santos, professor at the University of A Coruña and head of the Rheumatology Service of the University Hospital of A Coruña, among others.
